FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book event security in Sydney?

For most events we recommend booking at least two to four weeks ahead so we can complete a risk assessment and confirm staffing. Larger festivals and ticketed concerts should be booked six to eight weeks out. We can still respond to short-notice requests where licensed staff are available.

How many security guards do I need for my event?

Guard numbers depend on attendance, the venue layout, whether alcohol is served and your access points. A common starting point is one guard per 100 guests, adjusted up for higher-risk events. We confirm the exact figure during the risk assessment so you are neither understaffed nor overpaying.

What licences should event security guards hold in NSW?

All staff must hold a current NSW Security Licence issued under the Security Industry Act, with the class relevant to their role. Crowd controllers require a Class 1C licence and guards a Class 1A licence. We verify every officer's licence before they are deployed to your event.

What is the difference between a crowd controller and a security guard?

A crowd controller manages the movement and behaviour of people at venues and events, including entry screening and removing patrons where needed. A security guard focuses on protecting people and property through patrols and access control. Many events use both roles, and we deploy the right mix for your situation.
